Eventide

Receiver of the Lora and Russ Talbot ISU Fashion Show Design Scholarship for Best in Show in 2021. Here I explored couture techniques, corsetry, and bespoke patternmaking. Eventide blends graceful and sweeping silhouettes that are reminiscent of the ocean at dusk. There are two garments to the collection, one of which was accepted into International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) Conference in 2020 for Peer-reviewed Design Exhibition – Patternmaking and Couture.

JADE CITY

Jade City is a ready-to-wear collection for young professionals who want a unique aesthetic seldom found in the Western Market today.

Inspired by modernized Hanfu and ancient Chinese styles, the line sought to combine elegance and comfort with street style pop that bridges the gap between old and new time periods as well as between Chinese and Western culture.

Escape Therapy LLC

I worked with Escape Therapy and Baylor University to develop 3D Avatar clothing renders for activewear used as medical devices in CLO3D. This experience allowed me to learn complex virtual fittings with stretch garments.

Nautilidae

This garment combined experimental patternmaking techniques with historical influence. I was inspired by the chambered nautilus and Northern Renaissance era split puffed sleeves. This garment received 1st place in the graduate category at the Iowa State Fashion Show 2021.

Experimental Patternmaking Theory

These two exercises demonstrate how patternmaking theory is applied to garments. I was tasked with choosing two historical patterns and creating half scale mockups. Then I used patternmaking theory principles to shift the technique to a different part of the body.
